What is everybody's opinion of the drive on Smo in the 1st race M0?
Went looking for death at bell over short trip and when told NO basically gave up on the race - snagged back to last (at the bell mind you) and said we will wait for another day.
Is this good enough?
Are people who backed it EW, Place, Exotics entitled to expect Laura Crossland to drive it to obtain the best possible finish?
They were running good times at Melton tonight

The FFA suffered because of Menangle and was just about the slowest pacing race of the night
Must Be Nice's win in the M0 was Susan Hunter's first win for the season
Last season she won 26 from 159 starts
We are only 4mths into the season
Maybe she is more of a pointy end of the season trainer
Impressive run from Bad Boy Leroy to sit in the death and nearly get there in the 3yo trot final.
His sire Bad Boy Truscott had a chequered career after winning the Redwood.Ended up in the US, now at stud here for $800 fee. Son of Sundon!
It was nice to see some improvement from Villagem except for the bloke who is training/driving it. The distance Franco Ledger travelled around the bend made him the much more deserving winner
Hope you got onto Hi Tech Fury tonight Kev!
OMG I did not discount him but I did not even watch them tonight - in poker terms I think I am a 'cooler' - they lose if I am on them
The stable obviously do not bet except for maybe the first win when he broke the Stawell Tk Record - they could have tens of thousands otherwise :(
and Villagem won too
Running double paid $1970
Seriously I know I used up all my luck on Black Saturday
Villagem must have been one trainer away from retirement but somehow Asbestos Douglas has improved him out of sight
