Well TS can say he was in the slowest start to a race - I agree with the caller in saying it was the slowest I have seen for many a long year (maybe ever)
Well it looked that way on paper, but then they all got a pretty cosy track work run!
What a run by Poster Boy - ever so close to San Carlo's Tk Rec
Ordinary drive by David Moran on Konan - why didn't he make an earlier move before the pace really went on especially when his horse was keen to go faster - he would have been given the death by his stablemate

Get yourself to Lord's Raceway next Saturday night for the Breeder's Crown Semi Finals. The 3yo colts and geldings heats were great.
While you are there, drop into our History and Memorabilia Collection on the ground floor of the grandstand. We open an hour before the first race.
Some of the most recent additions are the Race Books from the 1950 Interdominion in Melbourne ( they are writtien in with odds etc.),
Soon to come: from the Moulton Family of Newry ( near Sale)...memorabilia of their horses: Tamboritha ( 2 Dullard Cups) , Uncanny ( NSW and Victorian Trotters Derbies) and Apepa among others in the days of The Showgrounds.
Noel, it would be worth the trip to just see Ignatius v Poster Boy although I wouldn't be surprised if Alford looks to give 'Steve McQueen' a cushier run than last week's clock buster

Terrific match up isn't it? Wellw orth the trip to Lord's Raceway.
There will be 96 2and 3 yo's to watch. It should be a great night.
Poster Boy said "Stick that on your wall" to the previously Undefeated One
Emma Stewart had not only 6 semi winners but also 8 place-getters

For the pacers Emma Stewart has 17 finalists. The next most is Michael Stanley with 3
All the best with Tidal Surge on Saturday night Dot.
Thanks Wayne
There's been discussion on other social media regarding changing the dates of the breeders crown to a more favourable time of year for attracting people to the races so I thought I'd open the conversation here.
The Breeders Crown is a generational race, and provided the same generation continues to race each other I don't see there is a problem if they are actually 3 and 4 years old when the races are conducted. There is talk of changing the entire racing season but it seems there is some opposition to this. But if all references to 2 and 3 year olds in the Breeders Crown terms and conditions were deleted and replaced with series (no) for foals of season 20??/20?? then I don't see how the series couldn't be run in the spring, potentially with much better promotional opportunities, instead of winter independent of other ( or not) changes to the racing calendar.
Whilst we traditionally think of derbies as races for 3 year olds in many trotting countries in Europe derbies are races for four year olds. Not saying we need to change our derbies, or maybe we do, but we do need to change historical conventions that are holding us back from engaging better with the general public in a competitive marketplace.
Adapting the old footy saying:
A good big girl beats a good little girl
That was the case with Sleepee proving too strong for Emerald Stride in the 2yo Trotting Fillies Final
Congratulations Anne (Bonnie) - a monster performance by Hurricane Harley as he had to make more than one run in that Gp1 company
Ride High simply Amazing as this is his first ever campaign and he has won 8/9 and beaten some phenomenal horses
Congratulations Anne.. super stuff
Speak No Evil 3yo Fillies Winner has had an exceptional 8 months - she only had her first ever start on Jan 9 this year!
I am not saying we have to go European but maybe it should be that you cannot take 1st if you are in a break crossing the finish line - it doesn't make for much of a photo/promotion for the sport
Congratulations Anne HH the star
Pretty sure that’s 3 Group 1 winning daughters of Top Tempo now
Yes Richard . Top Tempo ‘s 3 fillies of racing age are all Group1 winners. Speak No Evil is ahead of her sisters now with 2 Group1 wins this year. There is another weaning filly at home by Bettors Delight , has the same attitude as all the TT girls and bosses the nanny mare away from the feed.
Thanks to those who congratulated us on our wins. I was happy with second when Harley turned for home but he sprinted again and found the line strongly for an impressive win. Speak No Evil just gets the job done , very professional filly and ran the fastest time of the night. Ride High was just too good once he found the front but Poster Boy ran his usual honest race. Looking forward to having them home next week .
Fantastic Anne, Many congrats
We have the Breeders Crown 'Silvers' at Geelong tomorrow night - it seems a little strange to me that we have Four $30k, Two $20k, and a $14k race on a Wednesday night.
I wonder whether Friday night would not have been a better proposition

It seems far more strange to me that we give group status to the consolations and not to the semi finals.
I totally agree Dot
