Because Skye is suspended as well(?) No stays pending appeals?

Just out of interest is this the same Greg Bond? https://thewest.com.au/business/fina...o-ng-ya-114238

Before the convictions some WA betting forums were suggesting it was akin to the Chris Gleeson shenanigans. Can see where they're coming from.

The outcome of the other training partner's inquiry will be interesting. Has there been a training partnership pinged before? Would there be any mitigating circumstances that could see a partnership not be a partnership under the rules of harness racing? Do we have limited partnerships?

The NSW policy regarding transfer of trainer due to disqualification would cover partnerships?

In the instance where a trainer has been disqualified, HRNSW shall require that the following conditions be adhered to with respect to the transfer of horses:

    a) Any horse(s) in the care of a disqualified trainer shall be transferred to a trainer who does not train from the same property.

    b) The trainer receiving the horse(s) from a disqualified trainer shall, if required by HRNSW, provide evidence that there is no involvement from the previous trainer.

    c) Any horse(s) transferred from a disqualified trainer shall be ineligible to race if during the term of the penalty it returns to the property from which it was originally trained, unless approval is granted by HRNSW.

    d) If the horse(s) are in the ownership of the property owner, an exception to the above may apply to horse(s) owned by that person only, however any person currently disqualified shall not reside on that property.

    e) If a disqualified trainer obtains a stay of proceedings from the Racing Appeals Tribunal, NSW Local Rule 120A, that in itself does not permit any horse trained by the disqualified trainer to be transferred without approval in accordance with this policy.

Time for national rules and more so penalties. If harness racing is to compete with sports betting e.g. an AFL player pinged in any state cops the same penalty. The punters, followers and participants know where EVERYONE stands or falls.

Refer to Post 1 of this thread. RWWA covers the situation here without HRNSW take on it.

Thanks TC - I should have read the article thoroughly. I did not realize they were an 'official partnership' (Vic partnerships are too tricky/clever to commit) and so I am completely wrong - no loophole here.

Skye will need to find a new training premises.

Also of interest in this article is the final couple lines. Mark Reed disqualified for 6 months for failing to submit a second urine sample.

None of this is showing on harness.org.au . Is WA a separate entity from the rest of Aus? Seems like every state does things differently, although some WA disqualifications appear on the site yet some, like the aforementioned, dont.

Update: Mark Reed report is uploaded to .org. Elliot and Bond isnt

I should mention that these are posted on the RWWA site, but it's higgaldy piggaldy the way they're uploaded. Upload to one or both but not RWWA for this and harness for that and both for another.

Glen Elliot also is under investigation for Soho Wall Street, which seemed to grow a leg recently. ...
