Apart from the $2m of the Eureka, there is $700k on offer in the other races

Don't worry Patrick, Rod knows all that - his response to me was mostly tongue in cheek

6 months ago Sure Thing Captain was a $34 pop when he finished 7th in the Chariots - should he be $4.60 for The Eureka? (Opened $3.80!)

Can High Above win with a lowly rating of 77?

Well that race was boring.
Extremely - you would hope for a lot more for your $2 million
Luke and Kerryn were smart but as a race it was pretty boring.
3yo Bay of Biscay seemed to be the only horse to make any ground in the home straight
A couple of others may have appeared to but I think it was more a case of Sure Thing Captain going backwards

Maybe they are all too evenly matched and it comes down to whoever takes up a handy position
The same could be said about the Len Smith - nobody improving their position that much (one horse fading again)

I just watched the replay again & it was even more boring.
Luke made it his race by the sectionals he ran, once he easily found the front the race was over. If Pete kicked up ( but he didn't ), it could have made some sort of race of it , maybe.
Every other driver handed the race to Luke on a silver platter.
Good on him but what a waste of $2 million bucks.
It wasn't a race at all.
